About Dr. Abigail Ernest, AuD
Dr. Abigail Ernest, AuD, earned her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Memphis after completing her clinical externship at the Omaha VA Medical Center. She previously worked at the Des Moines VA Hospital, where she helped launch a Progressive Tinnitus Management group with a psychologist and counseled veterans on practical strategies for improving quality of life.
Her approach brings together careful diagnostic work, evidence-based technology, and counseling that helps patients use their hearing solutions successfully in everyday life.
Research background
During graduate school, Dr. Ernest, AuD, served as a research assistant in the University of Memphis Hearing Aid Research Laboratory and Auditory Processing Disorder research laboratory. That experience continues to inform her interest in amplification, listening challenges, and individualized rehabilitative care.
Outside the clinic
Dr. Ernest, AuD, grew up in rural north-central Iowa and is happy to be back in the Omaha area. Away from work, she enjoys time with her husband, Adam, their dog, Bo, family and friends. She also likes cards and board games, church activities, meal prepping, and keeping her sourdough starter alive.
