Follow the section that matches your hearing aids. Newer Phonak models connect to the app and streaming in one process. Older models require one additional Bluetooth step.
If other Phonak hearing aids are already saved on your phone, remove the old connections from both Bluetooth settings and the myPhonak app before pairing the new hearing aids. If your current hearing aids are working correctly, do not remove them.
1. Remove the old Phonak connections
Skip this section if no other Phonak hearing aids are saved on your phone.
- Open your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
On iPhone: Settings → Bluetooth.
On Android: Settings → Connections → Bluetooth, or Connected devices. - Remove every old Phonak entry.
Tap the information icon on iPhone or the gear icon on Android beside each Phonak device. Choose Forget This Device, Unpair, or Forget. - Remove the devices from myPhonak.
Open myPhonak → Devices → Your devices → Product Information → Forget my devices, and confirm.
2. Pair new or current Phonak hearing aids
- Place both hearing aids in the charger.
- Open the myPhonak app.
- Tap “Pair hearing aids.”
- Take both hearing aids out of the charger. They will be discoverable for approximately three minutes.
- Wait for both hearing aids to appear, then follow the prompts on the screen. Accept each Bluetooth pairing request.
- Finish the app setup. On Infinio Ultra and newer Phonak models, including Audéo EON, this app connection also enables calls and audio streaming.
If you have Infinio Ultra, Audéo EON, or a newer Phonak model, do not complete the older-model steps below.
3. Add streaming for older Phonak hearing aids
Complete this section only if your older Phonak hearing aids are connected to myPhonak but are not yet available for calls and audio streaming.
- Open your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Place the right hearing aid in the charger for at least three seconds.
- Take the hearing aid out of the charger. It will be discoverable for approximately three minutes.
- Tap Scan, Search, or Pair new device on your phone.
- Select “R-Phonak hearing aid.” Your hearing provider may have selected the left hearing aid or assigned a different device name.
- Accept the pairing request. Only one streaming connection is required; when you wear two hearing aids, audio will play through both.
If the hearing aids do not appear
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Keep the hearing aids close to the phone.
- Restart the hearing aids and scan again within three minutes.
- If pairing still fails, restart the phone and repeat the applicable section above.
Common questions
Do I need to pair both hearing aids?
Wait for both hearing aids when connecting through myPhonak. Older models use only one additional streaming connection, but audio will play through both hearing aids.
Why are several Phonak devices listed in Bluetooth?
Some entries connect the hearing aids to myPhonak, while another may handle calls and streaming. This is normal. Do not remove working connections unless you are completing the full reset at the top of this guide.
What if the hearing aids still will not connect?
Contact Merit Hearing or find your nearest clinic. A hearing professional can check the model, pairing settings, and device compatibility.
